The Notwist have released their second single from their new europe wide celebrated album, "Neon Golden". After "Pilot" they chose the quieter "Pick Up The Phone" with its wonderful, heartfelt hookline to fall in love with. There are two b-sides: One new previously unreleased instrumental track called "Red Room" and an outstanding remix of the album track "This Room" by Four Tet (UK) and Manitoba (Canada). Manitoba gives electronic music the soul and sensitivity that so many other electronica artists lack. Four Tet is Kieran Hebden from Fridge who is becoming quite well known for more than a few delicious remixes. When they put their heads together, the result is inventive and moving.
You can also find the video for "Pick Up The Phone" on the cd as well as here in the download area. It`s an irresistable, touching animated love story between, yes, a teddy bear and a stuffed rabbit. The director Luis Briceno did other videos for Console, Tocotronic and Mina before. All in all a great package-- watch out for it!
