..., and we can promise this much: some of the best music Calexico have ever put to tape can be found on this new album! The record obviously features longterm collaborateurs Volker Zander and Martin Wenk (who can celebrate their 10th year of playing with Joey Burns and John Convertino this fall), as well as Jacob Valenzuela (who can be found here singing (!) his first song for Calexico), and pedal steel master Paul Niehaus, but also exceptionally beautiful collaborations with a, to us previously unknown chanteuse from Iowa City called Pieta Brown, also with genius songsmith Sam Beam of Iron & Wine (again!), Doug McCombs of Eleventh Dream Day/Tortoise, and Amparo Snachez and Jairo Zavala of Spanish band Amparanoia fame, and a few more. Under normal circumstances we would be offering a first song to download right here and now but there are so many amazing songs to chose from on this album, we simply have not been able to agree upon the right one. So watch this space, a new Calexico track will pop up here any moment.
