Lambchop

It's official - brand new Lambchop material is coming your way this November, and it's like nothing you've ever heard from them before. Their first full length since 2011 will be called FLOTUS (For Love Often Turns Us Still), and you can listen to the beautiful and epic 18-minute first cut “The Hustle” for the first time right here:

"My wife and I attended this wedding of one her college friends in the countryside outside of Nashville. Weddings are a heady mix of emotions, memories, and events that can be quite rich in imagery. With this being a Quaker wedding, there was a lack of “officiating” in that the bride and groom addressed each other directly the entire time. This was something that I found to be most touching. Beyond that, as with much of my writing, I tend to describe experiences in an almost journalistic fashion and then strip things down till there is barely a thread to hold them together—in this case, starting with the vows and then moving on from there. The entire wedding party was doing this great synchronized dance step that I hadn’t seen before. I asked my wife what dance it was, and she told me it was the Hustle. She suggested I join them. I respectfully declined." - Kurt Wagner

In February 2015 it will be 15 years since Lambchop first released their landmark album 'Nixon'.

The band has decided to present a select number of shows in the UK and Europe to celebrate this anniversary accordingly, performing the record in its entirety, with focus on the songs, the band, and its members both past and present.

To that end these shows will serve as a tribute to Marc Trovillion, a key founding member of Lambchop who passed away in 2014, as well as a recognition of the contributions of the many musicians and friends, who played on this classic release.

Pared away from the recording’s ambitious production values, these shows should prove to be a unique and rare opportunity to remember, reconnect with, and reflect upon what is arguably one of Lambchop’s most significant offerings.

"Nixon is the album when Lambchop became the band people think of as Lambchop“ Pitchfork

"The most fully realised Lambchop record, the most perfect blend yet of their alt country roots and their obsession with soul." Mojo
